Overview
Ghorepani Poon Hill trekking is one of the famous trekking routes in Nepal. The highest point of this trek is 3210 meters. Ghorepani trek offers a wonderful opportunity to witness the beauty of the Annapurna region with a shorter trek. This place is rich of veiled treasure of Nepalese traditions and custom.
During the trek the trail passes through world’s famous ‘The Gorkha Warrior’ tribe the Gurung and Magar’s charming villages, dense Rhododendron (National Flower of Nepal), Oak forest with varieties of birds, green hills and patchwork valleys. Just about every outlook is awesome – an enticing glimpse of Mt. Fishtail (6,993m.) Annapurna (8,091m.) and Dhaulagiri (8,167m.) range. On an excursion to Poon Hill one can observe the entire mountain ranges; covering red and pink rays of the Sun in full bloom at the Sunset and Sunrise. Pleasing treks that can be enjoyed by every lover of nature in Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek. This trek is considered to be the best introduction to trekking with some spectacular views.

The main attraction of trekking Poonhill(3210m) from where we can view breathtaking view of Mt Fishtail,Mt Dhaulagiri and Annapurna Rang.During the Poonhill trek we get opportunity to explore the Forest side of full Rhododendron,Oak Tree,beautiful Birds and Flower.
Trip Highlights
Enjoy 3210 Meters altitude view point Poon Hill (Snow fall during Jan-Mar, in 3 Days from Pokhara Nepal. During Poon Hill Ghorepani Short Trek from Pokhara Nepal trip, places we will cover: Nayapul, Ghandruk, Tadapani, Ghorepani, Poon Hill, Hille.
8am, meet your guide at your hotel lobby area. Will then, start our trip. Scenery private car drive through high-way to Nayapul (Approx 1:30 hour), and then off road to Kimche (Approx. 1 Hour), then our trek begin to Ghandruk gurung village (after walking 1 hour). From here, we further walk to Tadapani through forests. Will enjoy view of Annapurna. It will take approx. 5 hours to reach to Tadapani, will stay overnight at guest house.

Day 1Drive Kathmandu – Pokhara (820 m. / 07 – 08 hrs. Drive.) stay overnight at Hotel.
Drive to Pokhara through Prithivi Highway by private tourist vehicle or tourist bus. Pokhara is a clean and beautiful city because it is less polluted and crowded compared to Kathmandu.
We get great views of Annapurna range, Lamjung himal range including dominating figure of Machapuchher (Fishtail) and Phewa Lake with its reflection in it. Then the afternoon can be enjoyed by the lake, as the hotel is located near to the lake. Stay overnight at Hotel.
Day 2Drive to Nayapul (01 ½ hrs.) And trek to Ulleri village (1,960 m. / 04 ½ hrs. walk.)
Depart Pokhara around 08:30 by private car / van / bus (depends upon size of your group). The Birthdate trail takes 01 hrs. to Birethati. This is the confluence of Modi River draining Annapurna base camp. Then follow upstream Burungdi stream.
Climbing gradually about 02 hrs. to Thikedunga. From here the trail is a steep climb to Ulleri and takes 1 ½ hrs. The tropical village where we can see and feel real life of local people. Stay overnight.
Day 3Trek to Ghorepani (2,750 m. / 04 hrs. Walk.)
After breakfast, the trail climbs gradually the Rhododendron forest with all the way to Ghorepani. Ghorepani is already view point of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna ranges.
Ghorepani is the mountain pass overlooking at the deep KaliGandaki valley wedged between two over 8000 meter peaks of Dhaulagiri I and Annapurna I.
Day 4Excursion Poon Hill (50 mints / 3,210 m.) Then trek to Tadapani. (2,590 m. /04 hrs. Walk.)
Poon Hill is the most beautiful 360 degree panoramic view point of the Annapurna trek. We can see about 15 different snow peaks including Dhaulagiri (8,167 m. / 7th highest), Annapurna (8,091 m. / 10thhighest) and Manaslu (8,156 m. / 8th highest). After enjoying the view we trek back down to the guest house.
Then we head for the next destination of Tadapani. The trail is through the Rhododendron forest with some ups and down. Tadapani has got beautiful view of mountain Annapurna south (7,219 m.) and Fishtail (6,993 m.). Stay overnight in Tadapani.
Day 5Trek to Jhinu Danda (1,610 m. / 05 hrs.)
We continue our way down to the Kimron Khola and pass the serene forests of rhododendron, bamboo and oak.
We then ascend to Chomrong village before dropping by the small peaceful settlement of Jhinu danda. This village has a nearby river side hot springs where we can soak our tired muscles. Stay overnight in Jhinu Danda.
Day 6Trek to Pothana (1,815 m. / 05 hrs.)
Bit down to the stream and easy walk to New Bridge. Cross the suspension bridge. After some easy walk on the River bank the trail goes gradually uphill to Landruk village.
Landruk is beautiful and tropical Gurung village where you can see the Buddhist culture and great view of Ghandruk and modi river valley. Then the trail goes through the small villages with beautiful scenery. The Pothana is small clan village surrounding by jungle where we will see many more and new mountains. Stay overnight in Pothana.
Day 7Trek to Phadi and drive back to Pokhara. (02 hrs. walk and 1 hr. drive to Pokhara.)
One hour it goes gradually down to Dhampus and one more hour we walk stone steps all the way to Phadi.
Then we are picked up by privat car / van or bus for driving back to Pokhara. Stay overnight in Pokhara.
Day 8Drive back to Kathmandu. (07/ 08 hrs.)
Pokhara ticks all the right boxes, with spectacular scenery, adventure activities, and accommodation and food choices galore.

Visa
You can get a visa in Kathmandu airport upon your arrival at USD 25 (or equivalent in other major currencies) for a 15 days visa, USD 40$ for a 30 days visa and USD 100$ for a 90 days Multiple visa, and you can also extend it later on if you wish. They have newly installed technology (visa machine) which makes it no longer necessary to have a passport photo.

Airport Condition: -
Please keep this thing in your mind that there are some airport touts and scam artists who take advantage of tourists. They might offer to carry your luggage and they want a large amount of money. Sometimes they intimidate our drivers and even take away their signs. Anyway...if you want someone to help you with your luggage you can give them NOT MORE THAN 1 - 2 DOLLARS. This is a small hassle that tourists sometimes face upon arrival at the airport. Doesn't stress about this but just be aware not to give more than a few dollars for their luggage handling if you choose to take someone's services. Nepalese in general are very kind and hospitable people.
Which currencies are accepted in Nepal?
Some major currencies (USD, AUD and EURO) are accepted for both visa and in general. There are plenty of ATM's in both Kathmandu and Namche and credit cards are accepted in limited shops and many restaurants. Please note that only Nepali rupees are accepted on the trek.
When and where should you arrive?
You will arrive at Tribhuwan International airport in Kathmandu on the trip starting day or earlier. You will be received outside the Kathmandu international airport terminal gate by our representatives holding a Himalayan Social Journey signboard and he will escorts you to the Hotel.
